Now, more than ever — curbside pickup.

Calls for social distancing, reduced business hours, limitations on public gatherings. As the reverberations of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak continue to be felt by all of us in real time, business owners like you are looking for things you can do to protect your profitability right now. It turns out, one solution has been rising in popularity with consumers even before the coronavirus outbreak: curbside pickup.

Back in December, NPR was telling us that “Curbside Pickup Gains Steam In Grocery Shopping” while last November, Target COO John Mulligan was calling pickup and delivery growth “nothing short of remarkable.”

Now, as a nationwide movement to take steps to “flatten the curve” of the coronavirus outbreak by practicing proper social distancing continues to gain momentum, businesses from restaurants to pet stores are joining the curbside pickup revolution.

Here at North American Bancard, we offer plenty of solutions that can help you take advantage of this increasingly popular shopping method, including:

  • The latest mobile payment devices, including our proprietary Payanywhere Smart Solution suite, which allows you to accept credit and debit cards any time, anywhere, including right at the curb.
  • Solutions for NFC contactless transactions like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay that further reduce merchant/customer interaction by avoiding the need for a credit or debit card at all.
  • Free access to a secure Virtual Terminal, accessible through Payments Hub, our online merchant portal. This technology allows you to seamlessly take over-the-phone payments.
  • Emailable invoicing with auto pay functionality.

No matter how you’re accepting payments at this time, we strongly encourage you to clean your POS equipment (including PIN Pads) as often as possible with Center for Disease Control and Prevention-approved cleaners.

As an organization, we have followed (and will continue to follow) all expert guidance provided by both the  CDC and the World Health Organization. We urge you to do the same.
